When we got Ellie, my diabetic alert dog, we were told that we should attend puppy classes of some sort. We were recommended to go to Canine Bliss. Kris has helped Ellie and I work better together and helped Ellie behave better when she is out in public and at home. We plan on continuing with classes to further Ellies training.
Kris came highly recommended by our vet. She is obviously an extremely knowledgeable trainer who cares deeply for dogs. I met Kris about 14 years ago with our first lab Shadow. Kris was wonderful then with the classes. We have gotten another lab Sophie and she has had to be alpha ever since we brought her home. She pulled, jumped, and pushed her way around the other dogs in the family. It was also very hard to walk Sophie. The classes have helped again! Sophie is enjoyable to walk with, the jumping is better (still have to train grandma and grandpa). We are still working on the bullying stuff but we will get there. Having expressed I had a fear of dogs until I acquired "Tank" (Boxer) Kris and her staff made sure I was comfortable as this was a huge step for me to be sitting in a room filled with other dogs. What a superior dog training site Fremont Ohio has to offer canine owners! My golden Retriever pup "Elley" and I have completed Puppy Preschool and Level 1 Basic Training classes. Canine Bliss was definitely the answer for introducing Elley and I to expected good manners and basic obedience training. Kris was such a knowledgable instructor and very respected by both the dogs and their owners. She took time to work personally with each handler to address individual behavior challenges. Although most instruction took place inside the site, valuable real life training practice time was completed on the walking trail adjacent to the building. I am so pleased with Elley's progress! I unexpectedly acquired a 2 month old chocolate lab puppy and realized I had no experience and no idea how to train, or even appropriately interact with him. Books were of some help but we (Duke and I) needed way more help than that. Friends recommended Canine Bliss and the classes have been great. We have done the puppy class and Level One. The instructors have been very patient with us, recognizing that we are both rookies. We have made lots of progress and plan to continue classes and refine and maintain what we have learned. I previously had a husky and never worked with her much as far as loose leash walking. I assumed since she was a "sled dog" she was supposed to pull. Now that we have adopted our new husky I found out this is not the case. Although she does "have it in her to pull", she is also capable of learning NOT to do so. Even before meeting Kris, I had several conversations with her. I got a new 6 month old puppy, Bentley and totally forgot how much work they were. When I called Kris I wasn't sure this dog could be salvageable. I don't trust him, but think with carry through with just the basic instructions he will be a lot better. I have a Berner that needed training and had passed Canine Bliss many times. Finally I called and entered a class. It was the best thing I could have done. We had 6 dogs, all different sizes and personalities. I learned more in those 10 lessons than I did watching TV, or other dog classes I have taken. I intend on going on and have a great time teaching and just spending time with Gabe. Hi Kris, This is Raven. I wanted my mom to write a letter to you to let you know I enjoyed coming to class and I learned several behaviors that please my owners. You showed mom and me how to have me heel, sit, down, ect. They had started to work with me before classes and realized they were on the right track and how to reinforce my behavior with your training. My parents already thought I was a special little girl and I want to please them. I'm pretty good at staying but come is very hard for me because there is usually something very interesting or distracting when they want me to come. We are working on it. I like the praise and treats I get when I do well.
I've heard mom tell other dog owners we have met on walks about my classes and about future classes we may enroll in so I can become a therapy dog. I love people and I want to spread joy and peace to other people.

Our puppy Lizzy, 7 mo. old, was very shy and scared when we started our basic class. By the time we were finished with our classes she wanted to run with the big boys! Our Lizzy has learned to sit, stay, down, and also not to jump on friends that come over. We are so happy that our puppy learned who was boss in our home and it was not Lizzy. Before Jasper (my spoiled min pin) and I started this class, I was not sure he would be a very good student. We learned so much! I highly recommend this course for anyone who has a dog that thinks he's the boss. Jasper would pull me (small but mighty) down the street. He was never around a group of dogs before this course. It was a kodak moment when Kris had our class go for a walk. There was Jasper walking with 6 dogs and wasn't acting aggressive. After hearing Kris talk about dog food, and reading the literature I changed his food. I was not aware of the harmful ingredients that is put in dog food.

Kris, My mom Marcia and I just want to thank you for teaching us how to get along better. Marcia isn't yelling at me, my brother Harry, or sisiter Snert as much as she used to yell. I hear the human visitors saying "That Scruffy seems calmer. Scruffy isn't barking as much." Marcia enjoys showing the humans how we dogs wait "calmly" at the door (I even lay down) to be allowed to go outside. Our walks with Marcia are more fun, we go further and Marcia seems happier when we get home.

The classes were so informative. Every class we learned something new that we could go home and apply right away. We would see the results and it would get us so excited to continue to see how much more we could learn. We also have a 4 year old dog at home who had never been to training. Hi Everyone, Last spring we enrolled Tony and Cloudy in one of Kris Bliss's obedience classes and found it to be quite beneficial. Her classes are conducted indoors on a rubber mat covered area free from distractions. There were two large German Shepards, one Golden Retriever, a young rambunctious male Rottweiler mix and our two Grey's. Every dog had a different personality and we were able to see how the success was mostly dependant upon the ability of the owner to establish "who's in charge", reinforcing good behavior and being consistent and patient. I went to puppy pre-school and basic training with my chihuhua Sweetie. She has learned how to be polite towards others and loves being around other dogs and people. She has learned how to come when called, loose leash walking, sit, down, stay, and much more. I am definitely coming back to more classes and I hope anyone who reads this will come too.
