Is therapy dog work right for you and your dog?  Let us help you learn more about the joys and challenges of being a Therapy Dog team.  The Canine Bliss, LLC, Therapy Dog Introduction Class will expose both you and your dog to different kinds of people of different ages, different abilities, and using different types of mobility equipment (wheelchair, crutches, walker, cane).  The class will also give you information about the different types of therapy dog work available to certified dog and handler teams.
The Therapy Dog Class is taught using role playing and volunteers from the local community.  Topics include stress signals in dogs, proper etiquette while making therapy dog visits, and teaching a firm, strong “leave it.”  Class is very informal, while sharing a maximum amount of information.
To become a certified Therapy Dog team, dogs and handlers must take and successfully pass the Canine Good Citizen Evaluation in addition to several other evaluations specifically for Therapy Dogs.  For more information, please contact Kris or go to Therapy Dog International’s website at www.tdi-dog.com.  Kris is a certified evaluator for T.D.I.  You do NOT need to take a class to participate in the evaluation process for becoming a therapy dog team through Therapy Dog International.
