Canine Bliss, LLC offers a variety of classes to handlers and their dogs.

 

For safety and comfort of both dogs and handlers, all Canine Bliss classes are held at our climate controlled indoor training facility.

Puppy Preschool

For puppies Under 16 weeks of age at the start of class 

 

START DATES:  Wednesday Sept 27th, Oct 25th, Nov 29th  5:45 PM

       

Cost: $115 for 4 weeks (Once a week for 4 weeks)

Class runs for approximately an hour

Space in class is not reserved until payment and registration form are received.

  

Topics Covered:  

  • Housebreaking

  • Crate training

  • How to prevent nipping and jumping

  • Building self-confidence in your puppy

  • Grooming and handling techniques

  • Introduction to simple obedience commands

  • And proper socialization

  • This class is to help puppy owners get started on the right foot with a YOUNG puppy.  This is not a structured "obedience class".       

 

Please bring your puppy on a *collar that he/she can't back out of, a *regular leash no longer than 6 ft and a *chew, such as a bully stick or something similar that your puppy will be interested in chewing, and small, soft *treats your puppy loves.

Must show proof of vaccines given by a licensed veterinarian.  We require that puppies have TWO rounds of vaccines prior to starting puppy pre-school. The first round is usually given by the breeder, the 2nd round is usually given when you see your vet the first time.    Click here to read an interesting article about vaccinations and socialization.

Class size is limited to 7 sometimes 8 dogs

 

This class will cover the basics of sit, down, stay, loose leash walking, four feet on the floor (no jumping), and come.  These classes offer individual attention and also group practice.  Along with teaching obedience commands, students also learn about canine behavior, nutrition, leadership skills, and much more!  Be sure to check out our testimonials page to hear what our students have to say about our classes.  

 

If your dog is over a year old we would like to meet your dog prior to starting group classes.  We reserve the right to remove any dog that we feel is not safe to have in a group setting with other dogs and people.  If you have questions or concerns please contact us.  We also offer private lessons for those dogs who are not fitted for group classes. 

 

Please bring your dog to class with a proper fitting collar (not harness) and a regular leash no longer than 6ft.  (For safety reasons, please NO retractable leashes) We will be discussing recommended training equipment the first night of class. Equipment is available to purchase at Canine Bliss.

 Classes are once a week on Tuesdays for 7 weeks

If you take your dog to different places, travel with your dog, and/or frequently expose your dog to new situations and people, this class is for you!  This is also a great refresher course for dogs who have already been through classes!

 

The Canine Good Citizen program was developed and is sponsored by the American Kennel Club for all dogs (both mixed and pure bred dogs) and is a benchmark of responsible ownership and good dog behavior.  This class will help you PREPARE for passing the CGC and CGCA test.  Tests will NOT be given during class.  There will be a test offered the week after class ends for a $15 fee.  Kris is a Certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.  All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC and CGCA test  may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.  To learn what the 10 steps of the CGC evaluation are, visit http://www.akc.org/events/cgc/index.cfm

 

Canine Good Citizen
Advanced Obedience

Prerequisite:  Basic Manners

 

Start Date:    August 29th:  1:00PM or 7:00PM (No Class Sept. 5th or Sept. 19th)

                        November 7th 

Classes are once a week for 7 weeks 

SATURDAY CLASS:  Begins October 7        9:00AM - 10:00 AM     Instructor is Don Stull

Cost $200

Class size limited to 7 sometimes 8 dogs 

 

Teach your dog lots of new obedience behaviors such as fronts, finishes, stands, pivots, proper heeling and more!  This class is very food motivated!  We will focus on building strong teamwork between handler and dog while also teaching new behaviors.  This is a great class for those who like working on precision!

 

 

 

 

Advanced Obedience
Drop In Classes 

Prerequisite:  Advanced Obedience and/or Canine Good Citizen

One time class!

 

Fridays at Various Times. Occassionally, we will have an evening class.  

Cost: $15 (Cash Only)   We send emails when we have classes scheduled for the month.

Maintenance Class:  This class practices the skills learned in the Canine Good Citizen Class

Advanced Class:  This class practices the skills learned in the Advanced Obedience Class

Rally Course:

Those advanced obedience skills have a sign to match!!  Once skills are learned, we make a course with the signs and you maneuver your way through the course performing the behavior skills on the signs.  These classes give a fun twist to traditional obedience.  Come have fun working your way through the course with your dog!
